I have picked up quite a few useful ideas from david while working here. i will delve deeper in to that later, but today i want to talk about the fiasco that has been plaguing the set dept for the past few weeks, and how it has kind of caused some problems for us.
Basic a big part of the act 3 stage did not arrive from Toronto, a set of bars that make the jail cell. now i am not going to get in to specifics, but when the rest of the set arrived the set team should have noticed there was a problem, but they did not. end result is we dont have the bars to the jail until today (and apparently they dont even fit)
so how does this slow down the Cuing?
well we can't accurately light act 3 with out them. also if these bars were in we would have been done with the cuing and just making small adjustments by now.
basically there was some missed communications and it wasted almost everyone's time.
it just goes to show how important communication and good management is.
